About the Owners

Jon & Phu

Jon, a native Houstonian, spent nine years in public accounting. His demanding job required long hours away from his best bud, Mozzi, a 3 year-old miniature labradoodle. Mozzi wished he could go to work with his dad everyday. Jon couldn't bear leaving Mozzi home by himself and wanted the best for his best bud so he enrolled Mozzi in daycare for some fun, exercise and socialization. Mozzi loved seeing his friends at daycare, both four-legged and two-legged! The tables turned and each time Jon dropped Mozzi off, he wished he could go to daycare with Mozzi! And so began the journey to make his dream come true. Jon knew just the right dog lover for a business partner, too.

He pitched the idea to Phu, his brother-in-law. Phu, an architect, lived in Dallas with his family which includes two furry members, Juno, a terrier mix, and Dexter, a miniature labradoodle and Mozzi's brother. For his love of dogs and to bring Dexter and Mozzi back together again, Phu jumped on board and moved down to Houston. It’s a family business, if you can tell!

Jon and Phu found the team at Camp-Run-A-Mutt whose business philosophy and love of dogs perfectly aligned with their desire to create a place where dog lovers could drop off their furry loved ones knowing that they would have fun and get exercise in a well supervised, clean and safe environment. They are proud to have brought the first Camp Run-A-Mutt to Texas so dog lovers and their furry family members in the south can enjoy this wonderful place!
