At Camp Run-A-Mutt,
it's all about the dogs...
The award-winning Camp Run-A-Mutt™ is the premier cage free doggie daycare and boarding paradise! Our indoor/outdoor camp is beautiful (see for yourself on our Muttcams), fun, safe and supervised 24/7. Camp Run-A-Mutt™ Point Loma features over 11,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play area for your dog to romp, play and socialize to their heart's content! Watch your camper online as they run on the spacious grassy area, cool off in the custom waterfall/splashpond, relax on the sun deck or under the cooling misters on a hot day. We also offer dog washing, grooming, boutique, obedience training and surprises you’ll find only at Camp Run-A-Mutt™. Your pup will love it, and so will you.
It's not just the amenities that make us unique. Camp Run-A-Mutt™ is also 100% cage-free for both daycare and overnight boarding. Your pup will receive exceptional care by our well-trained, attentive staff who are certified in pet CPR and first aid. Overnight Campers enjoy the security of a caring human in the same room while they snooze. Our goal is to make boarding fun by minimizing the stress and anxiety some dogs experience when they are away from home. “Pack boarding” instead of cages, human love instead of being alone, it’s a no brainer.

Our daycare lets dogs do what dogs do best: run with the pack, play with friends (both human and dog), chase balls, splash in our splash pond/waterfall, lounge in the sun or simply hide safely away on top of one of our many structures and watch the hi-jinx. See for yourself on our Muttcams.
Like our daycare, boarding is also cage free. This means, “pack boarding" indoors with the pack and mothered by our qualified alpha human. Our staff stays with your pup all night to make sure they are safe, comfortable, relaxed and all their needs are met. A good nights sleep tonight means a sharp mind and lots of energy tomorrow.
Our groomers are skilled, patient and most importantly, love dogs. Dogs who get groomed at our camp get to play right up until their appointment. Most dogs actually enjoy the break and our groomer knows that tired dogs are more relaxed and easier to groom. It’s really a win/win for everyone.
Even the best dogs can develop undesirable behaviors. All Camp Run-A-Mutt trainers practice positive re-enforcement methods which is the most humane and effective training there is. Most camps offer a variety of obedience options, like on-site classes, "board and train”, and one-on-one training.
What our customers say
I can't even begin to say how much I love this place. The owners and employees are so friendly, and get excited to see my dog Kona every time she walks in the door. My husband was deployed for 10 months and it was amazing to have this camp when I was too busy during the day. My pup doesn't care for people as much as dogs, but they make her feel so loved. I feel incredibly comfortable every time I leave her for a half day or overnight. They are clean, organized, and send me picture texts when she stays overnight. And there is never a crate! I love how all the pups sleep together indoors. Thank you front and back staff, you are all the best!! Kona loves you!Lindsay F.San Diego, CA
This place is amazing!! We tried several day care spots and our furry babies were not happy! As soon as they tried camp run a mutt they were so happy and love the staff so much! All I need to say to our dogs is "do you want to go to daycare?" And they jump up and down and run to the door breathless with anticipation. This is a cage free boarding facility & the staff sleeps with the dogs at night. We love that there is a webcam to check in on our babies when you are away & the staff texts you cute pics and progress reports! Did I mention your pup also gets a report card?? Yes they are Amazing & I highly recommend them!Cindy M.San Diego, CA
Can I just say wow? This place is great! Temperament testing was very professional and went very smooth (it helps that my dog goes to dog parks, the dog beaches, and has been to another day care before). I decided to take advantage of their discounted first day and leave my pup there for a few hours. I was pleasantly surprised to get a text with photos of my dog and see she was happy. When I picked her up she was tired, and still is the next morning! I am just very impressed with the facility, the staff and the overall excellent impression I got from C.R.A.M. I will definitely be taking advantage of this place for my dog's day care needs!Chelsey D.San Diego, CA
Meet the owners
Lore’s basis for how a dog should live came from growing up in a small Washington state town where her dogs could play and run free, without fences and leash laws. She has always wanted to create a similar environment for her dogs when she moved to San Diego 14 years ago. That is when she discovered doggie daycare and received her Australian Shepherd, Rosco, as a wedding gift. She could see the love Rosco had for his days at daycare, but she also knew she would change a few things if she owned the business. Then everything came together when she came across Camp Run-A-Mutt. She finally had found a way to leave her career in sales, own her own business, and create a play area for dogs that was built around the things that make a dog happy…large outdoor areas, water to romp in, their own social pack, and the most important thing...all cage free!
Kim is a native San Diegan, and lifetime dog lover. Growing up under sunny skies, she always had a dog by her side. As a graduate of San Diego State University with an emphasis on Financial Services, she spent the last couple of years working at a bank by day, and bartending at night, hopeful one day she could work for herself doing something she loved. Her puggle Maya, became more than a family member, but an inspiration and a best buddy.
Lore and Kim's friendship began in 2000, and when Lore approached Kim in 2012 with the idea that they should open their own dog day care, Kim realized there was no better fit for the pair. Unleashing her love for dogs in a cage free environment, Kim quickly realized that Camp Run-a-Mutt filled a space in her heart right next to Maya.
