At Camp Run-A-Mutt,
it's all about the dogs...
The award-winning Camp Run-A-Mutt™ is the premier cage free doggie daycare and boarding paradise! Our indoor/outdoor camp is beautiful (see for yourself on our Muttcams), fun, safe and supervised 24/7. Camp Run-A-Mutt™ San Marcos features over 11,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play area for your dog to romp, play and socialize to their heart's content! Watch your camper online as they run on the spacious grassy area, cool off in the custom waterfall/splashpond, relax on the sun deck or under the cooling misters on a hot day. We also offer dog washing, grooming, boutique, obedience training and surprises you’ll find only at Camp Run-A-Mutt™. Your pup will love it, and so will you.
It's not just the amenities that make us unique. Camp Run-A-Mutt™ is also 100% cage-free for both daycare and overnight boarding. Your pup will receive exceptional care by our well-trained, attentive staff who are certified in pet CPR and first aid. Overnight Campers enjoy the security of a caring human in the same room while they snooze. Our goal is to make boarding fun by minimizing the stress and anxiety some dogs experience when they are away from home. “Pack boarding” instead of cages, human love instead of being alone, it’s a no brainer.
Starting July 23rd we will be open on Sundays for Daycare from 8 a.m.-5 p.m

Our daycare lets dogs do what dogs do best: run with the pack, play with friends (both human and dog), chase balls, splash in our splash pond/waterfall, lounge in the sun or simply hide safely away on top of one of our many structures and watch the hi-jinx. See for yourself on our Muttcams.
Like our daycare, boarding is also cage free. This means, “pack boarding" indoors with the pack and mothered by our qualified alpha human. Our staff stays with your pup all night to make sure they are safe, comfortable, relaxed and all their needs are met. A good nights sleep tonight means a sharp mind and lots of energy tomorrow.
Our groomers are skilled, patient and most importantly, love dogs. Dogs who get groomed at our camp get to play right up until their appointment. Most dogs actually enjoy the break and our groomer knows that tired dogs are more relaxed and easier to groom. It’s really a win/win for everyone.
Even the best dogs can develop undesirable behaviors. All Camp Run-A-Mutt trainers practice positive re-enforcement methods which is the most humane and effective training there is. Most camps offer a variety of obedience options, like on-site classes, "board and train”, and one-on-one training.
What our customers say
My favorite day camp! my 2 brittanys love coming here and usually get more than enough exercise to tire themselves out....which is nice since I work full-time and tired pups make my life so much easier :) I love that they're able to socialize with other pups and that they're well taken care of. I'm not ashamed to admit that I can sometimes be an overprotective pet parent but I trust the staff at camp run a mutt 100%!Andrea B.San Diego, CA
My dog loves this place, paws down :) Staff VERY friendly and amazing. I consider my dog to be part of the family, and when I realized that I was at work for more than 10 hours a day, we decided to look for a dog day care for her to hang out in during the day for the work week. Staff will feed her any time you want (you bring the food) and give any medicine if you need. They let them out as much as possible and bring them into the rooms with kennels to eat. They have plenty of stuff for the dogs to play on/with/around and the MuttCams are the best. Anytime I'm missing my little one I can just go online and check it out. Yelp offers 20% discount on the first package, totally rocks! We are definitely going to get the monthly pass and board her here if we need to. Hours are great, 6:30am-7pm. There are plenty of staff wandering around with the dogs so I don't have to worry about them being neglected or that something could happen without supervision. Love love love this place.Sarah D.Alpine, CA
Camp Run-A-Mutt Hooray!!! I bring my dog here to play two to three times a week. It's easy to get to. Drop off and pick ups are easy and fast. The care is excellent and my doggy can't wait to get his treat at the end of the day! Reasonably priced. Long hours. They provide plenty of shade and a pool when it is hot outside. Clean facility with cameras so I can check in on my pooch when I miss him during the day.Anotnia B.Escondido, CA
Meet the owners
When you stop in to the Camp Run-A-Mutt San Marcos, you will likely find the owners, Lloyd and Sabrina Reid working at the Camp. They aren’t just owners, they are hands-on, and dedicated to the care and happiness of every dog that walks through the doors of their Camp. These two caring, dog-centric people have participated in years of dog training classes, including basic and advanced obedience, as well as agility, rally and nose work for enjoyment purposes, and Flyball.
Sabrina has been a registered nurse for 20 years, and also works in the field of Substance Abuse. Her real passion is their dogs, and the dogs of every other person she encounters. She is so devoted to her dogs, her family’s dogs and her neighbor’s dogs, that she thought it would be a good idea to open a dog camp!
Lloyd is a retired Marine and has decades of supervisory experience with training and instruction that translates to his relationships with dogs. Lucky for the Camp Run-A-Mutt San Marcos staff, he will share his talents with them so that they can deliver the highest quality service to the customers and their dogs. Lloyd is also a certified Pet Tech Instructor and will provide the staff members with the all-important first-aid and CPR training should any of the pet guests need emergency care on-site.
This venture is really all about the dogs, so meet the real motivation behind the Camp. Perhaps the first playmates to welcome your dogs to the Camp will be Betty, a 7-year old Terrier/Dachshund mix, Walter a 6-year old charcoal Lab, and the newest addition to their family, Lois, a 3-year old English Mastiff, lap dog.
